Competitions will be going ahead for 2021 and we have some really exciting categories this year!
All winners will be announced on Dane Sound Radio from 1 pm on Saturday 26th June so make sure you listen in!
Children’s Craft Competition: Pebble Art
Age <8 and 8-11
Pebble up to 25cm
Entries should be taken to the Orchards Farm,Twemlow (opposite Bidlea Dairy) on Saturday 19 June between 9.00 am and 10.00 am. Judging will take place at 10.00 am. Entries to be picked back up at 11.00 am till 12.00. There will be sweets for each entrant on pick up and a photo of the entries, with the child’s first name and age displayed, will be put on the Rose Day Facebook page.
Rose Festival Craft Plate: Garden Door Wreath
Entries can be up to 40cm wide
Entries should be taken to the Orchards Farm, Twemlow on Saturday 19 June between 1.00pm and 2.00 pm. Judging will be at 2.00 pm and entries to be picked up between 3.00 pm and 4.00 pm. The committee would like to thank Jill & Ray Brown for the kind use of their property.
Hodgson Cup competition: Plant Pot Garden
Entries can be up to 1 meter high and should include at least one rose.
To enter, please ring 07799 058198 leaving your name and address. Last entry is at 5.00pm on Tuesday 22 June. Judging will take place in the entrant’s garden and will begin at 2.00pm on Wednesday 23 June.
Banner and Bunting Competition
The popular Banner and Bunting Competition will also be back for 2021! Villagers are invited to decorate their homes or businesses in the week leading up to Rose Day, ready for judging on the Friday. The winner will receive the trophy with runner’s-up receiving rosettes. We can’t wait to see Goostrey covered in bunting once again!
