Ceilidh

Tickets for this year’s ceilidh are now sold old.

 

Wrist Bands 

In order to speed up access to the field, especially for parents with children in the procession, wrist bands costing £2.50 for adults and £1 for concessions (children are free) will be available from the Trading Post in the run up to Rose Day. They will also be available before the floats set of from Booth Bed Lane and outside the Crown before the procession arrives. 

 

Road Closure

Main Road will be closed between Both Bed Lane and the Church n from 1pm -2pm on Rose Day and access to Booth Bed Lane from Main Road to Booth Bed Lane will not be permitted from 12noon until the procession has left.

 

Procession

Please ensure that all children taking part in the procession arrive at the starting point on Booth Bed Lane from 12.30pm so that procession can eave promptly at 1pm. For safety reasons and in order to ensure that all on-lookers can see, only marshals are permitted to walk alongside the floats.

 

Prayers at the Cenotaph

The Rose Queen and her entourage will process to the church for the traditional prayers and wreath laying.

 

Car Parking

Please us the field opposite the Crown (accessed before the procession by the roundabout at the bottom of the school field) or the  special facility behind the Red Lion. Only cars with special permits and disabled drivers will be allowed on the Village Hall car park.

 

Sunday Service

The Rose Festival celebration service at St Luke’s Church is on Sunday 25th June at 10.30am. All are welcome.

12.30pm Procession starts to assemble at Booth Bed Lane

1.00pm Procession sets off along Main Road

1.45pm Ceremony at the war memorial led by Rev’d Canon Christine Broad,
vicar of St Luke’s, Goostrey

2.00pm Crowning of the Rose Queen and the Rosebud Queen 2023,
and presentations to the best entries in the procession

2.45pm Maypole dancing by children from Goostrey Community
Primary School

3.00pm Dancing by children from Elizabethfontein School in
South Africa

3.15pm Audley Brass Band playing

3.45pm Announcement of competition winners plus a plank walking
competition

4.30pm Prize draw

7.30pm Family ceilidh
