Useful to know

Road Closure

Main Road will be closed between Booth Bed Lane and Church Bank from 1- 2 pm on Rose Day

In addition, access to Booth Bed Lane from Main Road may be limited from 12 noon to 1pm.

Entry by Wristband only

To speed up the entrance to the field once the procession is over, this year entry will be by wristband only. The wristbands cost £2.50 for adults; children are free.

There will be no cash payment at the gate although there will be wristband sellers who will take cash or card payments positioned nearby.

Wristbands, which allow entry to the field from 2pm, can also be purchased from the Trading Post and Goostrey Mini Mart in the week running up to Rose Day.

They will also be on sale on the school field from 9am on morning of Rose Day, before the floats set off from Booth Bed Lane and outside the Crown before they arrive.

Card Payments

You will be able to make card payments at various points around the field and to pay for refreshments in the village hall.

However, many of the stalls and games will only accept cash so please ensure you plan accordingly.

Dogs

Rose Day takes place on the field used by the children of Goostrey School and so for health and safety reasons the event is unsuitable for dogs.

Last year there were instances where dogs were in distress because of the heat and the large crowds.

Therefore, the committee has decided that no dogs, apart from assistance dogs, will be allowed on the field. We hope you will respect this decision and leave your dog at home.

Ceilidh

Tickets for the evening’s Ceilidh at 7:30 pm are Adult- £10 & Child- £5 each and can be obtained from our Treasurer (Peter Gomes) who can be contacted on 07867 798848 or treasurer@goostreyrosefestival.co.uk.
