The costs of staging the annual Goostrey Rose Festival, which this year is on Saturday 28th June, continue to rise.
Our 2024 event cost over £13,000 and we expect that figure to rise again this year. In addition to the actual costs of running the day, we continue to invest in the infrastructure we use to put on the event as some of it is now quite old.
Goostrey Rose Festival is funded from a variety of sources: programme advertisements; gate receipts; bucket donations; stalls run by committee members; an Annual Quiz; the evening’s Ceilidh and kind donations from corporate sponsors and individual Patrons.
We currently have approximately 25 Patrons who between them generously donate over £2,000 each year. A reminder that on Saturday 15 March the Rose Queen will be chosen and the infant party will take place in the village hall during the afternoon. That evening there will again be a quiz to help raise funds for Rose Day. There will be more details of all these events nearer the time.
